Indian movie ‘Boong’ bags BAFTA award for Best Children’s & Family Film

In a major achievement for Indian cinema, ‘Boong’, an Indian Manipuri-language film, won the BAFTA award for the category of Best Children’s & Family Film award.

Boong, produced by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and directed by debutant Lakshmipriya Devi. Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar attended the prestigious event.

The cast of the film includes Gugun Kipgen, Bala Hijam Ningthoujam and Angom Sanamatum in prominent roles. According to IMDB, the film is about a schoolboy, Boong, who navigates racial tensions and border challenges in Manipur, driven by resilience and determination to reunite his divided family.

The movie won the award competing against other popular movies like Zootopia 2, Lilo & Stitch, and French sci-fi movie Arco.
