Harry Brook becomes first captain to score century in men’s T20 World Cup with ton during England vs Pakistan


England’s Harry Brook became the first captain to score a century in a men’s T20 World Cup game, during his side’s Super Eight game against Pakistan in Pallekele on Tuesday.

Brook’s ton led England to a two-wicket win, which sealed the side’s semifinal spot in the T20 World Cup 2026.

Brook reached his hundred in just 50 balls, with a four against left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi. With this, he became the third English batter to score a T20 World Cup hundred, after Alex Hales and Jos Buttler.

This is also the first century by an England captain in men’s T20Is.

The previous highest score by a skipper in a men’s T20 World Cup game was 98 by West Indies’ Chris Gayle against India in 2010.
