Jammu & Kashmir captain Paras Dogra headbutts KV Aneesh during Ranji Trophy final vs Karnataka


The Ranji Trophy final between Jammu and Kashmir and Karnataka was marred by an on-field altercation involving J&K captain Paras Dogra on Day 2 at the Hubli Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the 101st over of J&K’s first innings, with Dogra and Kanhaiya Wadhawan consolidating after an early wobble. Shortly after edging a delivery from Prasidh Krishna to the boundary, Dogra was involved in a verbal exchange with Karnataka substitute fielder K.V. Aneesh at silly point.

Dogra advanced towards Aneesh and headbutted him while still wearing his helmet, prompting immediate intervention from players and match officials. Karnataka batter Mayank Agarwal stepped in to separate the two as umpires moved swiftly to defuse the situation.

Dogra had retired hurt on 9 off 48 balls on the opening day after being struck on the glove by a bouncer from Vyshak Vijaykumar.
