The temple device came into limelight when a picture of Deepender Goyal went viral, in which a small golden device was seen fitted near his right ear.

He later clarified that the temple is an experimental wearable device, which has been designed to accurately measure blood flow in the brain. He also told that he had been testing this device on himself for about a year.

If this project is successful, in the future this device could play an important role in understanding human aging and brain health.
