Information about this feature has been given by WABetaInfo, which tracks the changes coming in the beta version of WhatsApp. According to the report, this option has been seen in TestFlight beta and Android beta versions of iOS.
How will the spoiler feature work?
When this feature is released, it will appear alongside existing formatting tools like bold, italic, and strikethrough. If a user marks any part of a message as a spoiler, that text will be covered with a gray bar. The receiver has to tap on that part to read it.

According to the report, WhatsApp can also add a shortcut. Users will be able to make the text a spoiler by placing a double pipe (||) before and after the text they want to hide. For example:
||This text will be hidden||
This method is similar to Reddit’s spoiler tag, so many users may already be familiar with it. At present this feature seems to be limited to text messages only. It has not been confirmed yet whether it will also work on images, videos or voice notes.
Why is this feature important?
Spoilers related to web series, films or match results are often shared in group chats. Not everyone is able to view content at the same time. In such a situation, the spoiler feature will give you the option to hide important information while continuing the conversation. This feature can prove especially useful in large groups, where messages arrive quickly.
When will this feature come?
WhatsApp has not yet announced the official launch date. Since it has been seen in the beta versions of both iOS and Android, it is believed that it is in the development stage. However, not all features that appear in beta will be included in the public release immediately.
If this feature is launched, it could prove to be a small but useful change in WhatsApp’s message customization tools.
