Call Recording feature in Google Pixel is now available in many countries of Europe.

Google is now making the call recording feature available in more countries in its Pixel smartphones. This feature was earlier launched only in select markets like America, but now it is being rolled out in many countries of Europe also. According to the report, users in countries like Germany, Italy, Spain, Romania and France have started getting this feature.

Google has said that this feature will be made available in all supported countries by the end of February. However, this will depend on local laws, as many countries have strict rules regarding call recording. In some places call recording is completely prohibited, while in some countries the consent of all participants in the call is required.

This feature works on Google Pixel 6 and newer Pixel models, provided the phone is running Android 14 or above. This feature is not based on AI and is different from the call notes feature of Gemini Nano. There is no transcript or summary of the call, only the audio recording is saved.

How can I turn it on?
To turn it on, the user will have to open the phone app and go to settings. There, the option of call recording will be available in the call assist section, from where it can be setup. Recording can be started by pressing the record button during a call. Before the recording starts, everyone hears an audio announcement letting them know that the call is being recorded.

If users want, they can also choose the option to automatically record calls coming from unknown numbers. There is also an option to auto-delete the recording after 7, 14 or 30 days or keep it saved forever.

Overall, this is a useful feature for Google Pixel users, but its availability will be decided according to the laws of each country.
