But now through the Group Message History feature, new members will also be able to see the recent messages sent before joining the group.

This feature will be optional
The most important thing is that this feature will be completely optional. The group administrator will be able to decide how old chats should be shown to the new member. According to the company, administrators can start with 25 messages and can share more messages as per the need. This will provide flexibility in professional, community or personal groups.
Whenever the old chat history is sent to a new member, all the members of the group will get information about it. Also, these messages will appear differently from normal messages, so that transparency is maintained.
This feature has started rolling out globally and will soon be available on both Android and iOS platforms. Users have been advised to update the app to the latest version.
