Historic announcement of Reliance and Jio
This amount will be spent on creating state-of-the-art data centers, cloud capacity and AI related platforms across the country. Ambani’s signal was clear that huge capital investment is necessary to make India a digital and AI superpower, and Reliance is ready to play a leading role in this direction.
Adani Group’s $100 billion blueprint
Adani Group, active from port to power sector, has also presented a plan to invest 100 billion dollars for AI infrastructure. This investment will focus on setting up AI data centers powered by renewable energy by 2035.
The group says this initiative could generate an additional $150 billion economic impact in server manufacturing, sovereign cloud platforms and other related industries. Overall, an AI ecosystem worth about $250 billion is estimated to be developed in the coming decade, which can give new heights to India’s digital economy.
Strategy of Microsoft, Yotta and TCS
Global tech giant Microsoft has announced that it will invest up to $50 billion for AI expansion in the countries of the ‘Global South’ by the end of this decade. The company had already presented a roadmap for AI investment of $17.5 billion in India last year, which clearly shows that India is included in its priorities.
Indian data center company Yotta Data Services has announced to develop one of the largest AI computing hubs in Asia. NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell Ultra chips will be used in this project costing about $2 billion. This hub will meet high capacity AI processing needs.
In this sequence, Tata Consultancy Services has made ChatGPT’s parent company OpenAI the first customer of its data center division. This partnership has been done under the global AI infrastructure initiative ‘Stargate’, which can provide new opportunities for AI service export to India.
L&T and Nvidia’s ‘AI Factory’ plan
Infrastructure giant Larsen & Toubro has proposed to build India’s largest AI factory in collaboration with Nvidia. Under this project, AI-ready data centers, advanced computing platforms and the necessary ecosystem to handle large-scale AI workloads will be developed.
This initiative is not only important from a technological point of view, but is also expected to boost high-skilled employment and domestic technology capabilities in the country.
