Sudden problem on Facebook, message ‘this page is not working’ is visible, users worried

On Wednesday morning, many Indian users of Facebook and Instagram suddenly faced ‘This page is not working’ error. When users opened the Facebook app or website, this message was visible on the white screen. The problem persisted despite reloading, changing browsers or checking the internet connection.

Complaints about this problem have mainly come from Delhi city of India. Many users complained about this on social media platforms and asked whether Facebook was down.

At present nothing like this has been seen on Downdetector and other service status websites. Nor has any official statement been issued by Meta yet. Some users reported that the problem was only on Facebook, while Instagram and WhatsApp were working normally.

Users tried many different methods- Clearing cache, updating apps, using VPN and switching mobile data/Wi-Fi. In most cases the problem persisted for a few hours.

One user said, “I wanted to check the group chat and feed, but the same error was coming again and again.”

Many people said that their work and entertainment were affected due to their dependence on Facebook.

Now the problem of most of the users seems to be resolved.

Such incidents have happened before also, when there has been a global or local outage on Meta’s platforms. Experts say that sometimes such problems arise due to increasing user traffic or server maintenance. Users are advised to contact Meta’s help center or try again after some time if the problem persists.
