Burgman Street 125 is quite popular in the Indian market as a premium maxi-style scooter. Its bold look, large body size and comfortable riding position distinguish it from other 125cc scooters. Suzuki can give many updates in the new generation like Access 125. These may include new design, better features and minor changes in the engine.
Spy shots and teaser images
Recent spy shots show a camouflaged test mule. There are indications of revised design in this. The headlights seen in the teaser look like the big Burgman models, which will add to the premium appeal. It will be launched in the Indian market on 2 April 2026. After the update of Access 125, testing of Burgman has started.
Engine and Performance
The new Burgman Street 125 may have the same 124cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which is equipped with SEP-alpha (Suzuki Eco Performance Alpha) technology. This engine gives approximately 8.6 bhp power and 10 Nm torque. Features like auto start-stop system, silent starter and better fuel efficiency are already present.
The engine can be updated to comply with OBD2B emission norms. When it comes to mileage, the Burgman Street already performs well. Mileage is around 40-45 kmpl in city traffic. This could be even better in the new gen model.
Design and features
The main attraction of the Burgman is its maxi-scooter styling. The large front apron, windscreen, wide seat and extended floorboard provide rider comfort even over long distances. Under-seat storage is 21.5 litres, which is enough to keep a helmet and other accessories.
Features like updated LED headlamps and tail lamps, digital instrument cluster and possibly TFT screen can be added in the new generation. Features like Bluetooth connectivity, navigation and call alerts will add to the premium feel. In braking, there will be the option of Combi Braking System (CBS) or front disc brake.
Market position and competition
The ex-showroom price of Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is currently around Rs 1.07 to 1.10 lakh. There may be a slight increase in the new generation. This scooter competes with electric options like Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter, Hero Xoom and Ola S1.
Burgman’s target audience is people who want a combination of style, comfort and practicality. This is the perfect option for office commute, family use and weekend rides. Its large size gives road presence and makes the rider feel confident. There is also talk of a 150cc Burgman in some reports, but most indications are towards a 125cc updated model.
