Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane was forced to leave the field of play with an apparent foot injury during its IPL season-opener against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on March 29.
Rahane went down clutching his foot before the start of the 5th over, and after receiving treatment from the physios, walked off the field.
In Rahane’s absence, vice-captain Rinku Singh took over as on-field skipper.
Rahane had been in fine form earlier in the day, scoring 67 off 40 balls with three fours and five sixes on his domestic home ground as KKR posted 220 for four in its 20 overs.
