DigiLocker becomes smarter, electricity bill download in one click, know how the new feature works

DigiLocker has added a new feature on its platform, through which users can now easily access their electricity bills in digital form. This feature has been brought under the Digital India campaign, the objective of which is to make government services paperless and easy.

In today’s time, people like to keep their important documents in digital form. Keeping this need in mind, DigiLocker has started this facility, so that users will not have to go to the website or office again and again for electricity bill. Now all the important documents can be kept safely at one place.

How does this feature work?
To use this feature, the user will have to login to DigiLocker with his registered mobile number. After this, the dashboard can be accessed by entering the 6 digit security PIN.

By going to the Documents section and searching ‘Electricity Bill’, a list of electricity providers from different states appears, such as CESC, TPDDL and JUSCO.

After this the user has to enter his consumer number and mobile number. As soon as the information is submitted, DigiLocker extracts the bill directly from the database of the concerned company and displays it in the app.
