Nalinikant Gollaguna, CEO of the company’s automotive division, said the financial year ended on a positive note. We have achieved highest ever volumes in both SUV and LCV (<3.5T) segments. SUV sales in March stood at 60,272 units, a growth of 25 percent, while LCV sales increased by 11 percent at 24,928 units. Total vehicle sales stood at 99,969 units, which is 21 percent annual growth.
Dominance of SUVs!
Models like Scorpio range, Thar, Bolero and the newly launched XUV 7XO contributed significantly to Mahindra’s SUV sales in March 2026. The Scorpio series continues to be the top seller, while the Thar and XUV700 variants are also showing strong demand. The new XUV 7XO is getting good response from the market, which is giving additional volumes to the company. Overall, total SUV sales (including exports) in March stood at 62,109 units.
Talking about the full year of FY26, Mahindra has sold a record 6,60,276 new SUVs, which is an increase of about 20 percent compared to the previous financial year. Similarly, 13 percent growth was recorded in the LCV segment with sales of 2,89,597 units. In April-February FY26 alone, the company had sold more than 6 lakh passenger vehicles and the March figures took it to a new high. With this success, Mahindra has taken a strong step towards creating the record of highest PV sales in the non-Maruti Suzuki category.
sales analysis
There are many reasons behind this growth. The demand for SUVs is continuously increasing in the Indian market, especially for premium and lifestyle SUVs. Mahindra has strengthened its portfolio in the last few years. Made Thar a favorite of off-roading lovers, gave Scorpio an affordable and tough image, while luxury SUVs like XUV700/XUV 7XO have made a place in the upper segment. The company’s new product strategy, better features, customer-focused design and marketing have boosted sales.
Mahindra also performed brilliantly in the tractor segment. Domestic tractor sales in March 2026 were 43,403 units, which is an annual growth of 33 percent. Total tractor sales in the entire month were 45,035 units, which has increased by 29 percent. President of Farm Equipment Business, Vijay Nakra said that rural demand increased as the entire Navratri season fell in March.
