Earlier, LSG skipper Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first. SRH’s batting lineup, which posted 226 in the match against KKR, were reduced to 35/4 after ten overs thanks to some perfectly executed bowling from LSG.
Shami was particularly impressive, bowling an economical spell of 4-0-9-2. His two scalps included the dangerous opening pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, using the slower ball to good effect to dismiss both batters.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen did their best to take the score to 156, stitching together a 100 runs plus partnership, but it was clear the home side were a few runs short.
Chasing the total, LSG got off to a steady start with Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh. After Marsh fell, Pant walked into bat at three, after having opened the innings in the previous game and failing to make an impact. But Pant looked determined and composed right from ball one today, scoring an unbeaten 68 off 50 balls to take his side home.
It wasn’t the most straightforward chase for the visitor, losing wickets at regular intervals while Pant carried on from one end. But Pant stayed till the end, and amidst the pressure, hit the winning runs for LSG.
