This means that now it will be easy to know on which devices your WhatsApp is being used and when.
Till now, there is an option of ‘Linked Devices’ in WhatsApp, where you can see which devices your account is linked to. But the problem is that you have to go and check again and again.
If you don’t check regularly, you may miss activity from an unknown device. The new feature is being introduced to eliminate this problem.
You will get real-time updates
According to reports, WhatsApp will provide the facility to show real-time activity in the upcoming update. Meaning, if your account is being used on any other device at the same time, you will get information about it immediately. This will make it easier for users to understand whether anyone else is using their account.

Not only this, the company is also testing a new notification system. Under this, if your WhatsApp is simultaneously activated on any device other than your phone, you will get an immediate alert.
This alert will be especially for such cases where there is suspicion of unauthorized access. This allows you to take immediate action, such as logging out of that device.
The good thing is that this feature will not send notifications unnecessarily. The company is designing it in such a way that alerts are received only when both the devices are active simultaneously.
