Rohit had hurt his hamstring while batting during MI’s clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday. After receiving on-ground treatment, he had tried to soldier on.
But, the former Indian captain had to retire hurt after scoring just 19 from 13 deliveries as MI stumbled to a heavy defeat against RCB.
“The medical staff is assessing him… An official update will be given when available,” said MI batter Naman Dhir in the pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
Rohit reportedly underwent scans after the game and had skipped training on Monday.
MI has suffered a stuttering start to the season, losing three of its four opening games and is currently placed second from the bottom in the standings.
