New Delhi. Tesla has launched the 6-seater variant of the world’s best-selling electric AUV, Model Y, in India. This new SUV is being brought keeping in mind those customers who want a spacious family car. It will have a 2+2+2 seating layout, meaning a total of 6 people will be able to sit. Tesla Model Y is known not only for its seating capacity but also for its unmatched performance. The maximum speed of all its variants is 201 km/hr. If we talk about pickup, then this car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 to 5.9 seconds.

Tesla is already selling the standard version of Tesla Model Y in India. But, the company’s sales were not as expected. Only 227 units could be sold in the year 2025. The new 6-seater Model YL is being manufactured in China’s Shanghai factory and from there it will be imported to India. These days, a huge surge is being seen in the demand for ‘three-row’ SUVs in India. This 6-seater entry of Tesla can bring a big change in the premium segment like Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.

According to Tesla’s official website, the starting price of Model Y 6-seater in India has been fixed at ₹ 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). However, its prices go up to ₹67.89 lakh depending on different cities and variants. Its price in Delhi is ₹ 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom), on-road is approximately ₹ 61.03 lakh. Model YL Premium (AWD) ₹ 61.99 lakh (ex-showroom), on-road approx ₹ 63.16 lakh. The ex-showroom price of Model Y Premium Long Range (RWD) is ₹ 67.89 lakh and on-road price is approximately ₹ 69.11 lakh. In states like Maharashtra, on-road prices are slightly lower than Delhi due to difference in tax and registration rates.
