Microsoft has made major changes in Windows Update. Now users can pause updates for up to 35 days, extend the pause repeatedly and even perform a normal shutdown without forced update & restart.

Get rid of updates and restarts! New amazing feature in Windows
Windows updates often arrive at the most inopportune times. Sometimes while making an important presentation, sometimes before attending a meeting, or while closing the laptop at night and preparing to sleep, Windows update suddenly starts. Many users remain troubled by this. Now understanding this problem, Microsoft has made some major changes in Windows Update, which are going to provide a lot of relief to the people.
The biggest change has been made in the ‘Pause Updates’ feature. Now users can pause Windows updates for up to 35 days at a time. Earlier this facility was limited, but now Microsoft has made it easier. The user will get a calendar interface where he can select the date of his choice, after which no updates will come till that day.
The most important thing is that after completion of 35 days, you can pause the update again for the next 35 days. This means that if needed, you can postpone updates for a long time. However, the company has advised that security updates should not be ignored for too long.
The second big change is regarding ‘Update and Restart’. Earlier, when system updates were ready, Windows would often forcefully show the option of ‘Update and Restart’ or ‘Update and Shut Down’ while shutting down or restarting.
Now this will not happen. Microsoft has said that now if the user chooses normal Restart or Shut Down, the system will do the same and will not start the update secretly.
Apart from this, changes have also been made during new computer setup. Now users will be able to skip updates while setting up the Out-of-Box Experience i.e. PC for the first time. This will make it easier to use the new system quickly.
The names of driver updates will also now be clearer and understandable. Like it will be told whether the update is for display, audio, battery or any other part.
Users will get relief
Currently, these new features are being made available for Windows Insider users. In the coming time, all Windows users can get this facility. This step of Microsoft is a great relief for those people who were troubled by frequent Windows updates.
