Jasprit Bumrah will replace Suryakumar Yadav as Mumbai Indians captain for its IPL 2026 match against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala on May 14.
Bumrah — who is captaining in the IPL for the first time — becomes the third player to captain Mumbai Indians this season after Suryakumar and Hardik Pandya.

Hardik was the permanent captain at the start of the season, but has missed out on the last two matches with back spasms.
Bumrah has previously captained India in a handful of Test matches when Rohit Sharma was unavailable for selection.
