India squad for Afghanistan ODI series: Kohli, Rohit included; Harsh Dubey, Prince Yadav get maiden call-ups


The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India’s squad for the One-Day International (ODI) series against Afghanistan on Tuesday.

The three-match ODI series will begin on June 14 and will run till June 20. The first ODI will happen at the HPCA cricket stadium in Dharamsala, while the subsequent matches will take place in Lucknow and Chennai, respectively.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were included in the squad, which will be led by Shubman Gill. Shreyas Iyer was named the vice-captain. Gurnoor Brar and Harsh Dubey received their maiden ODI call-ups.

The chairman of selectors, Ajit Agarkar, said Rohit and Hardik Pandya’s availability is subject to fitness. Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for both ODIs and the Test.

Meanwhile, the one-off Test against Afghanistan will be held at the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh from June 6 to 10.
