Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi brought up his slowest half-century in IPL history against Gujarat Titans in the Qualifier 2 match in Mullanpur on Friday.
Sooryavanshi took 31 balls to reach his 50, four balls slower than his 27-ball fifty against Chennai Super Kings last season, his previous slowest before today.
Its not been the most fluent innings from the 16-year-old, struggling for timing and rhythm early on in his innings, and also being forced to curb his natural attacking instincts as RR lost wickets at the other end on regular intervals. l
