Amazon Music experience will change from July 2, Prime users will get new rules
Amazon has made a big change for its music streaming platform in India. The company on Tuesday launched a new Amazon Music Unlimited plan, with which users will get the option to listen to ad-free music. Apart from this, the company has also announced some important changes for Amazon Prime members.
The price of the new Amazon Music Unlimited plan has been kept at Rs 199 per month for non-Prime users in India. At the same time, Amazon Prime membership can avail the unlimited plan by paying only Rs 99 per month in addition to its existing subscription.
In this premium plan, users will get features like more than 10 crore songs and podcasts, completely ad-free experience, HD and Ultra HD audio quality, Spatial Audio, Dolby Atmos support and offline downloads. That means music lovers will get the benefit of better sound quality and additional features.
However, there is also going to be a big change for Prime users. Till now, Prime members could access Amazon Music at no additional cost, but from July 2, 2026, they will have to listen to ‘limited ads’ on the platform. Apart from this, features like HD Audio, Ultra HD quality, Dolby Atmos, Spatial Audio and offline download will also now be available only in Unlimited plan.
A new plan will also come
Not only this, Amazon has also announced that it will soon launch a new free tier called Amazon Music Free. This service will be like Spotify’s free plan, in which users will be able to access the entire music catalog with ads.
This move is believed to be part of Amazon’s strategy in which the company is charging separate subscription fees for premium and ad-free experience on its platforms. Earlier, additional subscription for ad-free streaming was also introduced on Prime Video.
If you want to listen to songs with better audio quality, offline music and without advertisements, then the new Amazon Music Unlimited plan can prove to be a good option for you.
