In Royal Enfield’s 650cc range, both Bullet 650 and Interceptor 650 are in discussion among bike riders. On one hand, Bullet 650 is known for its classic identity and powerful road presence, while on the other hand, Interceptor 650 offers great performance and versatility at a low price. After all, is the additional expenditure of ₹30,000 really justified or not? Know the complete difference between both the bikes in this comparison.
Bullet 650 vs Interceptor 650: Know which has more power?
In Royal Enfield’s 650cc series, two popular models Bullet 650 and Interceptor 650 offer a great combination of retro styling and performance. The Bullet 650 (ex-showroom price ₹ 3.65 lakh) offers modern twin-cylinder power with classic looks, while the Interceptor 650 (ex-showroom price ₹ 3.35 lakh) is a more sporty and affordable option.
Both the motorcycles are suitable for highway cruising and city riding, but the Bullet 650 focuses on heritage appeal and the Interceptor 650 on versatile handling. There is a price difference of ₹30,000, which gives the buyer a chance to choose based on style and use. Let us know about both.
design details
The Bullet 650 retains the classic Bullet identity. Upright posture, hand-painted tank badge, casket headlamps, 19-inch front wheel and step-up seat. It weighs 243 kg, which gives a heavy but stable feel. The Interceptor 650 has a more modern retro look, with a low saddle height, wide handlebar and an agile chassis. It is light (about 202-213 kg) and easy to handle in the city. The Bullet 650 is more traditional and touring-oriented, while the Interceptor 650 is versatile with a sporty twist.
Who is better in features?
Both models have features like dual-channel ABS, disc brakes, slipper clutch and semi-digital instrument cluster. The Bullet 650 has more spoke wheels and heritage elements. The Interceptor 650 offers better ergonomics, a comfortable riding position and alloy wheels in some variants. There are no advanced electronics (like traction control) in either, but the build quality and finishing are premium.
Engine and Performance
Both have 648 cc parallel-twin, air-oil cooled engine, which gives approximately 47 bhp power and 52 Nm torque. The 6-speed gearbox is smooth. The Bullet 650 has torquey mid-range that is good for highway cruising. Mileage is around 20-25 kmpl, but due to high weight it feels a bit heavy in the city. Interceptor 650 is more responsive, fun-to-ride and gives better mileage (24-25 kmpl). Both have good throttle response and high-speed stability is excellent.
Overall, if you want the feel of the old Bullet then go for the Bullet 650. If budget and versatility are priority then Interceptor 650 is a better option. Both are built on Royal Enfield’s strong 650 platform.
