The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allotted a centre in Abu Dhabi to a Nagpur student named Abdullah for the Medical entrance exam NEET-UG 2026 re-exam, which is scheduled to be held on Sunday (June 21, 2026)

This allocation was made despite his choosing a local centre in Maharashtra. The boy’s family was in utter distress over the ‘allotment error’, as they were unable to arrange for passport or visa formalities on short notice.

Following complaints, the NTA acknowledged the lapse on its part, stating that it was a technical glitch. They assured that a revised admit card would be issued with Nagpur as the centre of choice for the aggrieved student.

The exam, which was earlier conducted on May 3, was cancelled following allegations of irregularities in the examination process.

The examination body announced the cancellation of the exam on May 12 amid allegations of a paper leak. The CBI investigation is going on in this matter.

Telegram had been banned in India by the Central government until Monday (June 22, 2026), following a request from the NTA to curb further fraudulent activities by cheating rackets.

A nationwide mock drill was under way across the country on Saturday (June 20, 2026) ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination as part of the efforts to ensure smooth, secure and transparent conduct of the medical entrance test.
