Jamshedpur. Monsoon has arrived in Jharkhand and continuous rains are continuing in many districts. While rain gives relief to people from the heat, it also brings many problems for two-wheeler drivers. It is often seen that after getting wet in the rain, the bike or scooter does not start, stops midway or the engine starts having technical problems. In such a situation, a little caution can save the vehicle from major problems.

Get it checked first
In this regard, Rajesh Mandal, an experienced mechanic from Jamshedpur, says that the bike should be specially checked as soon as the monsoon starts. First of all check the condition of spark plug and spark plug cap. When rain water or moisture reaches the spark plug, the engine does not get the required spark, which causes difficulty in starting the vehicle. If the spark plug is old, it should be replaced immediately.

Check whether the sealing is proper or not
According to Rajesh, it is very important to check the fuel tank and oil tank of the bike. Many times, due to small holes in the tank or the lid being defective, rain water gets inside. This affects the quality of petrol or engine oil and affects the performance of the engine. Therefore, the lid and sealing of the tank should be regularly checked during monsoon.

Apply grease where you put the key.
During the rainy season, it is also necessary to take care of the ignition system i.e. where the key is placed. Experts say that light greasing and cleaning should be done there from time to time. Due to this, there is no problem of moisture and rust and the key system works properly for a long time. Apart from this, keep the terminals of the battery also clean, so that there is no interruption in the current supply.

Special attention should also be paid to the condition of tyres, brakes and chain. Roads become slippery in the rain, so worn tires can cause accidents. At the same time, it is also important to get the brake shoes and disc brakes checked. Clean the bike chain regularly and apply lubricant to it, so that it does not rust and the performance of the vehicle remains better.

If possible, park in a shed
Experts say that during rains, park the vehicle under the roof as far as possible and avoid getting it wet for a long time. If the bike gets wet in the rain, clean it with a dry cloth and check the important parts before starting. With a little care and regular maintenance, your bike will continue to perform well without any problem throughout the monsoon season.
