It is reported that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued a notice to Telegram directing it to take effective steps to ban the sharing of pirated films and OTT content with immediate effect.

According to sources, the Ministry has also asked for an action taken report from Telegram in this regard within 15 days. The government wants that swift action should be taken against channels, groups and links that infringe copyright on the platform, so that illegal sharing of films and digital content can be curbed.
