India secured a silver medal through Lovepreet Singh in the men’s +110kg weightlifting final on Day 8 of the Commonwealth Games 2026.
Later, Seema Kaliramna bagged a bronze in women’s discus throw.
India currently sits 10th in the medal table with 17 medals, including three gold, 10 silver and four bronze medals.
Earlier in the day, Neeraj Chopra qualified for the men’s javelin throw final, while Praveen Chitravel and Selva Prabhu Thirumaran also booked their place in the men’s triple jump final. Martina Devi Maibam missed out on a medal in the women’s +86 kg weightlifting final as she finished fifth.
