Ravichandran Ashwin endured a difficult outing as Dublin Guardians suffered a 33-run defeat to Glasgow Cosmic in the fifth match of the European T20 Premier League 2026 at The Hague on Saturday.
The Guardians captain won the toss and chose to bowl, but finished with figures of one for 43 from four overs as Glasgow posted 183 for five. Ashwin did provide one highlight, deceiving Moises Henriques with a carrom ball to have him stumped for four. However, Jason Roy’s 60 off 37 balls and Richie Berrington’s 51 off 27 powered Glasgow to a strong total.

Ashwin’s fortunes did not improve with the bat. Coming in at No. 8 with Dublin under pressure, he was dismissed for a two-ball duck by Lungi Ngidi. Harry Tector fought with 75 off 45 balls, but the Guardians were bowled out for 150 in 19.3 overs. Ngidi finished with four wickets as Dublin slipped to a second straight defeat in the competition.
Berrington was named Player of the Match for his half-century.
