India will face Bangladesh in the first semifinal of the Women’s Asia Cup at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday, September 10.

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side holds a dominant record against Bangladesh in T20Is. In 24 meetings between the two sides, India has won 21 times, while Bangladesh has managed just three victories.

The two sides last met at the recent Women’s T20 World Cup, where India came out on top by five wickets. Shafali Verma was named Player of the Match for her half-century, scoring 53 off 34 balls, while Radha Yadav picked up three wickets.

India has also dominated the recent meetings between the sides, winning its last eight T20Is against Bangladesh. Its most recent defeat came in the 2018 Women’s T20 Asia Cup final, when Bangladesh produced a disciplined bowling performance to restrict India to 112 for nine. Bangladesh chased down the target with three wickets to spare.

That victory was part of a remarkable run for Bangladesh, which had also beaten India earlier in the tournament.
