Italy and Uganda have confirmed their spots at the Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off by finishing in the top two of the Challenge League B group in Tanzania.

With one matchday remaining in the last of three legs of the competition, neither side can fall out of the top two of their six-team group, which also features host Tanzania, Hong Kong, Bahrain, and Singapore.

Italy sealed both teams’ spot with a comfortable six-wicket win over Hong Kong, the only other team that could have threatened to make the top two.

They will now move to the Qualifier Play-off alongside the bottom four teams from the Cricket World Cup League 2 (currently Namibia, Canada, Nepal and United Arab Emirates) and the top two from Challenge League A group (currently Jersey and Kuwait).

The Play-off matches will be counted as ODIs, meaning that the teams will have temporary ODI status.

The top four teams from the Play-offs will advance to the Qualifiers for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
