In the latest injury scare for the Indian team, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja walked off the field midway through an over on Day five of the second Test against Sri Lanka on Thursday.
The incident occurred in the 128th over, when Jadeja, three balls into the over, pulled out of his run-up while attempting to bowl the fourth delivery.
Jadeja immediately pointed to his left calf before walking off the field, raising doubts over his availability for the remainder of the contest.
As things stand, despite the Indian bowlers’ best efforts, the match is heading towards a draw, with Sonal Dinusha and the Sri Lankan tail mounting a stubborn resistance.
