Yashasvi Jaiswal scores hundred as Mumbai registers second-highest successful chase in SMAT


Indian opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a hundred for Mumbai against Haryana in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Super League match on Sunday.

Jaiswal got to his century in just 48 balls, scoring 16 fours and a six on the way to his fourth T20 hundred. The left-handed batter’s stroke-filled knock powered Mumbai to a stunning 235-run chase against Haryana.

Mumbai’s effort is the second-highest successful chase in SMAT history. On Friday, Jharkhand had chased down a 236-run target against Punjab at the same venue.

Jaiswal was at his best against the Haryana pacers, carting Anshul Kamboj for 34 runs from just 13 balls and Sumit Kumar for 25 from 13 in his whirlwind innings.

The 23-year-old Jaiswal was eventually dismissed for 101 in the 18th over, with his team just seven runs away from a win. Mumbai soon closed off a four-wicket win, with 15 balls to spare.
