The Big Bash League, Australia’s marquee T20 tournament, will begin on Sunday with five-time champion Perth Scorchers taking on three-time winner Sydney Sixers in the tournament opener at Optus Stadium in Perth.

The regular season will consist of 40 matches, with each team playing 10 games, preceding the finals series. The regular season will run from December 14 to January 18, with most matches beginning at 1:45 PM IST. On double-header days, the match timings will vary. While on some days, the first match will start at 12:35 PM IST, there are some games scheduled for 8:35 AM IST, 10:30 AM IST and 11:30 AM IST. While most of the second matches on double-header days will begin at 1:45 PM IST, there are some scheduled for 2:45 PM IST and 3:45 PM IST as well.

The finals series will begin on January 20 with the Qualifier between the top two placed teams after the regular season. The teams ranked third and fourth will face off in the Knockout on January 21, and the winner of that game will take on the losing team of the Qualifier in the Challenger on January 23.

The final is scheduled for January 25.
