Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025: Jharkhand, Hyderabad eye clean sheets going into last Super League fixtures
Jharkhand stands atop Group A with eight points from two games, while Hyderabad is setting the pace in Group B, having beaten Rajasthan and defending champion Mumbai.
Enjoying a superior net run rate (NRR) of 2.999, Hyderabad starts as the favourite against Haryana (0.234), while in Group A, a last-ball win against Madhya Pradesh meant Jharkhand has an NRR of 0.577. But when it takes on Andhra (-0.371) at the DY Patil Academy ground on Tuesday, it can’t afford to be complacent.
A big win for Andhra would not only derail Jharkhand but also keep Madhya Pradesh, which has a better NRR of 0.488, in the hunt if it manages to beat an already-eliminated Punjab.

In Group B, Haryana and Mumbai are far behind Hyderabad in terms of NRR. Having lost the opening game of the Super League, Mumbai bounced back with a win against Haryana in the last game, but in the end, that may not be enough. With an NRR of -1.657, Mumbai would require a big win against Rajasthan and then hope for the other results to go its way.
At the MCA Stadium, Haryana and Hyderabad will lock horns in the last game of the day, and with dew setting in, the toss will certainly be a huge factor. Irrespective of the outcome of Mumbai’s match, Haryana will have to put the brakes on Hyderabad and go for a big win to stay in contention.
TODAY’S MATCHES
Madhya Pradesh vs Punjab (9 am, DY Patil Academy), Mumbai vs Rajasthan (11am, MCA Stadium), Andhra vs Jharkhand (1.30pm, DY Patil Academy), Hyderabad vs Haryana (4.30pm, MCA Stadium).
