100% BIGGER than Part 1? From Rs. 28 cr. to Rs. 45 cr+, trade SURE Dhurandhar 2 will SMASH a MONSTER day 1 if it goes solo 100 : Bollywood News

Dhurandhar ended on a high and what has excited a section of the audience is that the story hasn’t ended. There’s also a sequel, which is all set to release soon, on March 19, 2026. While the first part of the Ranveer Singh starrer opened at Rs. 28.60 crores, trade feels confident that the sequel will open with much better numbers. (Note: The quotes of these trade experts were gathered on Tuesday, December 9, when Dhurandhar had collected Rs. 159.40 crores.)

Also, it’s releasing on Eid, which is the ideal time. A good film can be released anytime and it is bound to find an audience.”

Can we expect an opening of more than Rs. 30-40 crores for Dhurandhar 2? Taran Adarsh replied, “It depends on which date they are releasing. If it arrives on a holiday, then the sky is the limit.”

Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, opined, “100% it’ll open better than Part 1. As per reports, it’ll be released with Toxic. That is a full-blown commercial film. So, it depends on how it is received by the audience. But if Dhurandhar 2 gets a solo release on a normal weekend like part 1, then an opening of Rs. 40-45 crores is bound to happen. After all, the first part has been appreciated and won the hearts of the people.”

Girish Johar, producer and eminent film business analyst, agreed, “Yes, it would have a better opening. Part 2 is now eagerly awaited. The makers have ensured that the economics do not ruin the film and that’s how they have made it into 2 parts.”

Trade analyst Atul Mohan is also confident of a bigger opening for the sequel, “The first part is a big hit and most importantly, the sequel is not going to come to cinemas after a huge gap. Whenever the first part is a huge hit, it is a given that the second part opens better and does bigger business.”

However, distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal had a different opinion, “It’s not necessary (that Dhurandhar 2 would open bigger) as it’s coming at a very short gap. All the sequels that have arrived, be it Pushpa, Baahubali or KGF, they have taken time. But this is coming in 3-4 months and hence, it’s tricky.”

On whether the second part can open at more than Rs. 40 crores, Raj Bansal replied, “I doubt. I can’t comment at this stage. Also, Eid release is not helpful for it as it’s an anti-Pakistan movie.”
