India squad for Under-19 World Cup 2026: Mhatre, Suryavanshi lead 15-member squad


The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Saturday announced the side for the Under-19 World Cup 2026, which is set to be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15 to February 6.

Five-time champion India has been drawn in Group B alongside New Zealand, USA and Bangladesh. India will begin its campaign against the USA on January 15 in Bulawayo, followed by matches against Bangladesh on January 17 and New Zealand on January 24.

The upcoming edition of the U-19 World Cup will feature 16 teams divided into four groups, followed by the Super Six stage. Four teams from the Super Six will advance to the semifinals.

The Under-19 side’s last assignment was the Asia Cup in UAE, where it lost in the final to Pakistan. India will also play a three-match ODI series in South Africa before the World Cup. Vaibhav Suryavanshi will lead the side in that series with Ayush Mhatre and Vihaan Malhotra missing due to injuries.
