Why is Shubman Gill not playing in Punjab’s Vijay Hazare Trophy match today?

Shubman Gill was not named in Punjab’s playing XI against Sikkim in the round five of the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Jaipur on Saturday.

According to the team sources , Gill had to sit out of the game due to food poisoning.

Both Gill and Arshdeep Singh were supposed to join the Punjab squad for this fixture. Arshdeep reached the city on Friday has been named in the playing XI.

Punjab is playing at the Jaipuria Vidyalaya ground and hence the Punjab vs Sikkim game is a closed-door affair with no streaming available.

Situated inside the Jaipuria School premises, the ground has no seating arrangements for spectators. Even though there’s a small gallery above the players’ changing rooms, it is only restricted to the BCCI delegates, and the students of the school and the academy.
