IND vs NZ: Virat Kohli falls on 93, misses 54th century in ODIs
Looking to take on the bowler and clear mid off, Kohli fluffed his aerial drive and holed out to Michael Bracewell. But his 91-ball 93 put India on course in the chase of 301 runs.
During the innings, he also scaled 28,000 runs across all formats and became the second-highest run-getter in international cricket, overtaking Kumar Sangakkara.
The 37-year-old has enjoyed a rich vein of form recently. This was his seventh-straight score of fifty or more in List A cricket.
He had struck two centuries and a fifty during the three-match series against South Africa in December last year. He followed it up with another century and fifty for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Before that, Kohli had struck an unbeaten 77 against Australia in Sydney.
