Global First: Mahindra has launched the BE 6 Formula E Edition, presented as the world’s first Formula E-themed SUV. It comes in two variants, priced at ₹23.69 lakh for the FE2 and ₹24.49 lakh for the FE3. Bookings open on January 14, 2026, and deliveries begin on February 14, 2026. Mahindra positions this edition between existing BE 6 variants while giving it a distinct design and feature upgrades.

Launch Benefits: The first 999 customers will receive a package including a track-day experience at Mahindra’s Proving Track with driver Kush Maini, a collector’s box with Mahindra Racing memorabilia, and personalised delivery media. Buyers can choose a two-digit number for door decals, and their names will appear on Mahindra’s racecar for the London E-Prix. Three customers will also win London E-Prix tickets with paddock access in August 2026.

Brand Ambassador: Kush Maini, an FIA Formula 2 race winner and a member of Mahindra’s Formula E racing programme, will serve as the brand ambassador for Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs. His engagement extends to promotional activity, customer experiences, and participation in the special track-day events linked to the BE 6 Formula E Edition. Mahindra aims to connect its Formula E involvement directly with its expanding electric SUV portfolio.

Performance Specs: The BE 6 Formula E Edition uses a 79 kWh battery powering a rear-mounted motor producing 282 bhp and 380 Nm. Mahindra claims acceleration from 0–100 kmph in 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 202 kmph. The company cites a 500 km range in one set of data and an ARAI-certified 682–683 km range in another. The SUV supports 20-to-80 percent charging in 20 minutes with a 180 kW DC charger.

Exterior Rework: Mahindra has redesigned the front fascia with circular projector headlamps, slim LED eyebrow DRLs, aggressive bumpers and a sportier boot-lip spoiler. The SUV receives dark liquid-metal cladding, orange brake callipers, silver-finished faux skid plates and Formula E-inspired decals. A 12-stripe graphic across the roof and bonnet marks Mahindra’s 12 years in Formula E. Four colours are offered: Everest White, Firestorm Orange, Tango Red and Stealth Black.

Variant Details: The FE2 variant uses 19-inch wheels similar to the standard BE 6, while the FE3 adds 20-inch alloys, adaptive suspension and exterior puddle lamps. The rear has a simplified lightbar replacing the standard C-shaped signature, along with a Formula E badge. The Edition also gets unique cladding, fender graphics, updated taillights and fixed-glass roof decals. It builds on styling cues from Mahindra’s Gen 3.5 Formula E livery.

Interior Theme: Inside, the SUV carries an orange-focused motorsport theme with Formula E logos on the dashboard, seats and belts. FIA branding appears on the windscreen and seat belts. The cabin uses carbon-fibre accents, orange highlights on controls, a flap-style start/stop cover, and matching patterns on speaker housings and the wireless charging dock. A custom Formula E-inspired startup animation and exterior sound cues are included.

Special Elements: The Edition introduces transparent door panels on select trims, an in-touch controller with orange detailing and multiple interior badges acknowledging Mahindra’s Formula E programme. The company emphasises that the model is not only a cosmetic version but includes feature enhancements. The changes extend across lighting elements, body cladding, roof graphics, and interior touchpoints, reinforcing a direct connection to Mahindra’s racing identity.

Price Position: In Mahindra’s lineup, the BE 6 range starts at ₹18.90 lakh for the Pack One variant and reaches ₹26.90 lakh for Pack Three with the same 79 kWh battery. The Formula E Edition sits above Pack Two, priced ₹19,000 higher. The Batman Edition, launched in August 2025 and limited to 300 units, costs ₹27.79 lakh and carries an ₹89,000 premium over Pack Three.

Market Context: Mahindra highlights the Formula E Edition as the second special version of the BE 6 after the Batman Edition. The company unveiled it a day before revealing the XEV 9S seven-seat electric SUV. The BE 6 Formula E Edition integrates motorsport-influenced design, performance-linked branding, premium buyer benefits and race-team tie-ins, signalling Mahindra’s intent to strengthen its identity in electric mobility and global racing.
