Andhra Pradesh signs ₹515 crore EV deal to roll out statewide charging network and 5,000 jobs
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu endorsed the MoU in the presence of Industries and Commerce Minister TG Bharath. Naidu reviewed the consortium’s mobility blueprint and assured fast-track clearances for the project.
The program is projected to create more than 5,000 jobs, including 1,450 direct and 3,100 indirect roles, with dedicated opportunities for women in fleet operations, charging station management, customer support, and mobility management.ThunderPlus, the lead partner, will build the state’s charging backbone. The plan includes deploying 120 kW chargers every 25 km and 1 MW ultra-fast chargers every 100 km along highways and intercity corridors.
The company already operates a 3 MW charging hub in Vijayawada and 0.5 MW facilities in Nellajarla and Visakhapatnam, and is preparing electrification plans for the Visakhapatnam–Chennai Industrial Corridor.
Implementation will begin in two clusters:• Amaravati Capital Region — Gannavaram Airport, Vijayawada, Amaravati, and Guntur
• Visakhapatnam Urban Region — NAD Junction, Pendurty, Simhachalam, and Dwarakanagar
These zones will host the first phase of the state’s multi-modal EV shuttle network.
The consortium aims to integrate EV manufacturing, city and intercity operations, charging infrastructure, and a unified digital ticketing system. Roqit will develop the single-ticketing platform to link multiple transport modes through one application.
Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus Solutions, said, “This partnership is a decisive step toward making Andhra Pradesh India’s clean mobility capital. With integrated shuttles, unified ticketing and ultra-fast charging, we are building a model that states across the country will replicate.”
Nirmal Reddy, CEO of ETO Motors, added, “Together, we are creating a unified system that enhances everyday commuting for lakhs of citizens. Leadership from Roqit highlighted that the single-ticketing platform will unify all modes of transport through one seamless app.”
The consortium will coordinate with the AP Economic Development Board, municipal bodies, transport agencies, and industrial corridor authorities to roll out the program across the state.
