Harmanpreet Kaur becomes first Indian to reach 1000 runs in WPL history


Harmanpreet Kaur became only the second player, after Nat Sciver-Brunt, to reach 1000 runs in the history of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Harmanpreet, who captains the Mumbai Indians in the WPL, reached the tally while chasing a target of 193 against the Gujarat Giants on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old played a match-winning innings of 71 runs from 43 balls to guide MI to a seven-wicket win.

Sciver-Brunt reached the 1000-run tally while playing for MI last season, with her current runs standing at 1101.
