While new films for last so many weeks are struggling to hit a double digit score in their opening weekend, Dhurandhar has done the unthinkable. It has come close to a double digit score in its seventh weekend, something that has never happened before. There are hardly any films that have actually survived in theatres for so long, leave aside scoring records, and here is Dhurandhar, which is yet to go below the 2 crores mark.


The film brought in Rs. 9.95 crores more over the weekend fine by with Friday (Rs. 2.10 crores), Saturday (Rs. 3.60 crores) and Sunday (Rs. 4.25 crores) being terrific all over again. Apart from being the highest scorer on a daily basis when compared to all other films in the running, be it new or holdover, the film is also marching into the weekdays on a superb high with at least Rs. 5 crores more set to come before Border 2 hits the screens.

The film’s total currently stands at Rs. 879.75 crores and now just around Rs. 20 crores remain for it to enter the 900 Crore Club. This also sets huge expectations for Dhurandhar 2 because one would expect nothing but Rs. 1000 crores from the film and that too in just Hindi from India alone. It would all boil down to how the promo is cut for the film since audiences are excited, momentum is there and equity has been built. All that’s required is for the final product to meet the mammoth expectations as well.
