From 2026, India-EU FTA will cut import duties on premium cars above ₹16 lakh, benefiting brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari, making them more affordable.

Premium European cars priced above ₹16 lakh are set for a phased reduction in import duties under the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA), potentially making luxury and performance models significantly more affordable from 2026 onwards. The FTA provides for quota-based duty concessions on fully built imported cars from the EU, marking a sharp departure from the earlier regime where customs duties were as high as 110%.
