Farmer arrested for possessing country-made guns in Salem

A 60-year-old farmer was arrested for possessing country-made guns on Friday.

Acting on a tip-off that illicit liquor was being smuggled in Aranoortumalai, the Karipatti police engaged in rounds in the locality on Friday morning. The police found Karuppan (60), a farmer, hiding the hooch and seized 30 litres of hooch from him and while they searched his house, the police seized three country-made guns. The police registered a case and arrested Karuppan and are investigating further.
