Filmmaker Karan Johar recently spoke about director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and praised his films for their strong visual appeal and costume design. In a recent interview, Johar was asked about the last thing he watched that impressed him specifically because of the costumes.

He said, “Always what Bhansali does. Every movie of his, like the costumes are just outstanding.” Johar further added that Bhansali remains one of the filmmakers he deeply admires for his distinct aesthetic sensibility. “I think that he is a filmmaker I truly regard as one of the most aesthetic voices. So I think every Bhansali film,” he stated.

Bhansali is widely known for his signature filmmaking style, where visual detailing plays an important role in storytelling. His films often feature elaborate sets, grand staging, and carefully designed costumes that reflect the era and emotional tone of the characters. Several of his projects, including Devdas, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Gangubai Kathiawadi, have been noted for their scale and period styling.

Karan Johar’s comments come at a time when Bhansali continues to remain one of the most prominent directors in Hindi cinema, known for blending dramatic storytelling with strong visual presentation.

On the work front, Bhansali is currently working on his upcoming film Love and War, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. The film has already drawn attention due to its star cast and Bhansali’s involvement.
