As Vadh 2 inches closer to its theatrical release, the film’s promotional campaign recently took on a deeply reflective turn. Actors Sanjay Mishra, Neena Gupta and Kumud Mishra visited the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi, revisiting the institution where their journeys as performers first took shape. The visit became a moment of shared memories and conversations around theatre, learning and craft, resonating strongly with students and faculty present at the interaction.

During the interaction, Sanjay Mishra spoke candidly about how learning at NSD extended far beyond structured lessons, emphasising the importance of observation and peer learning. Recalling his time as a student, he reflected on watching some of the most respected names in theatre and cinema up close, including the late Irrfan Khan.

Sharing his experience, Mishra said, “I don’t even know what I learned or didn’t learn at NSD, but what I truly had were people like Irrfan bhai. You could simply watch him. Virendra Saxena was there, Ankur ji was there, Robin Das is sitting right in front of you today while you’re busy looking at your mobile phones. Just watching them was a lesson in itself. Anup da as well these were people you kept observing. I remember once thinking, while Irrfan bhai was performing, ‘When will this man start acting?’ That’s the level at which he was playing the game.”

His remarks struck a chord with those present, highlighting how immersion and observation played a crucial role in shaping performers at NSD. The moment added emotional depth to the film’s promotions, linking Vadh 2 back to the theatre-rooted journeys of its lead actors.

Written and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vadh 2 is positioned as a spiritual sequel to the original film, retaining its emotional and philosophical core while presenting Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta in new roles. The project is backed by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg under the banner of Luv Films.

The film has already generated attention following its Gala Premiere screening at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in 2025, where it received a positive response. With its release scheduled for February 6, 2026, Vadh 2 continues to build anticipation as it blends introspective storytelling with performances shaped by decades of theatre and cinema experience.
