As part of its content slate unveiled on February 3, Netflix announced Talaash: A Mother’s Search, a mystery thriller series slated for release in 2026. Headlined by Parineeti Chopra, the show promises an emotionally charged narrative that blends suspense with a deeply personal exploration of motherhood, belief, and truth.

Nine years after the disappearance, her relentless pursuit of answers leads her to a devastating realisation — the truth she has been chasing may not lie in some distant place, but within the closely guarded secrets of the people she trusts the most. Positioned as a kidnapping drama with emotional restraint, the series aims to let performances drive the mystery rather than relying solely on shock value.

Sharing their thoughts on the project, the team behind the series said, “Talaash: A Mother’s Search is an emotional journey shaped by instinct, love, and the unshakeable belief of a mother. At its core, the series explores how far belief can carry a person when her truth is questioned by the world around her. Brought to life by an extraordinary cast, this kidnap drama unfolds with emotional honesty and restraint, letting performances guide the mystery. The series has been created by Rensil D’Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra, with Rensil D’Silva also serving as the director. The writing team includes Rensil D’Silva, Riva Razdan, Hussain Dalal, and Abbas Dalal, while Kausar Munir has contributed as the consulting writer, adding further depth to the storytelling.

Produced by Siddharth P. Malhotra and Sapna Malhotra, Talaash: A Mother’s Search is backed by Alchemy Films and co-produced by Chandini D’Silva under Reel Culprits Films. Sapna Malhotra also serves as the executive producer on the project.

In addition to Parineeti Chopra, the series boasts a strong ensemble cast featuring Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Jennifer Winget, Tahir Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Dhruv Chowdhary, and Sumeet Vyas.
