Netflix’s February 3 slate reveal has brought with it the announcement of Operation Safed Sagar, a large-scale military and war drama that revisits one of the most daring and lesser-known chapters of the Kargil conflict. Set to stream globally in 2026, the series chronicles the Indian Air Force’s iconic mission that went on to become the world’s highest air operation, achieved against seemingly impossible odds.

These pilots, operating at extreme altitudes and under relentless pressure, put everything on the line to defend the nation, making the mission a landmark moment in India’s military history.

The series has been created and is being showrun by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava, with Oni Sen serving as the director. The writing team includes Sandeep Jain, Nikhil Ravi, and Barun Kashyap, while production duties are being handled by Matchbox Shots LLP in association with Feel Good Films. With the backing and support of the Indian Air Force, the makers aim to bring a high degree of authenticity and respect to the portrayal of real-life events.

The ensemble cast is led by Siddharth and Jimmy Sheirgill, with Abhay Verma, Dia Mirza, Prajakta Koli, Adil Hussain, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina, Arnav Bhasin, and Amrita Bagchi rounding out the lineup. The diverse cast is expected to portray both the human and strategic dimensions of the mission, highlighting not just battlefield action but also the emotional toll of war.
