As preparations gather pace for the Indian Racing Festival (IRF) in Goa, actor and Speed Demons Delhi team owner Arjun Kapoor has described the upcoming Goa Street Race as one of the most demanding tests for drivers and teams alike. Scheduled to take place on February 14 and 15, 2026, the event will see the streets of Goa transformed into a high-speed racing circuit, promising intense action and razor-thin margins for error.

Arjun Kapoor calls Goa Street Race the ultimate challenge ahead of Indian Racing Festival 2026Sharing his perspective on street racing, Kapoor highlighted how such circuits strip motorsport down to its most human elements. According to him, street tracks leave no room for comfort or complacency. “On a street circuit, there’s nowhere to hide. One small lapse can end everything. That reality makes every lap feel personal, not just for the drivers, but for me as an owner too,” he said. He further noted that racing through city streets shifts the emphasis from sheer aggression to mental strength and composure. “You still need to be fast, but more than that, you need control. The teams that do well are the ones that stay calm when things get chaotic,” Kapoor added.

At the core of Speed Demons Delhi’s line-up is Delhi-born racer Shahan Ali Mohsin, who has represented India in world karting championships across Europe and now returns to race for his home city. Speaking about him, Kapoor said, “Shahan’s journey says a lot about how far Indian racing has come. He grew up in Delhi, raced internationally for India, and now comes back to represent Delhi on an Indian street circuit. That connection to the city and the team, adds a different kind of motivation.”

The team also features Ishaan Madesh, one of India’s most promising young single-seater drivers and the highest-placed Indian finisher in the 2025 F4 India Championship. “Ishaan brings hunger and focus. Finishing third overall in F4 India is a big achievement, and even stepping in for one round is about giving talent the platform it deserves,” Kapoor said.

Adding international experience is Malaysian racer Alister Yoong, son of former Formula 1 driver Alex Yoong. “Alister has grown up around racing at the highest level. That exposure shapes how you approach pressure, preparation, and teamwork,” Kapoor noted. The line-up is completed by Australian racer Caitlin Wood, a former W Series competitor and the first Australian woman to win at Nürburgring. “Caitlin’s presence brings belief,” Kapoor said. “She’s competed globally, broken barriers, and adds a level of confidence and visibility that lifts the entire team.”

Looking ahead to the Goa race weekend, Kapoor believes the event represents a broader moment for Indian motorsport. “This team represents where Indian motorsport is headed, rooted in homegrown identity, but confident on the global stage. Goa will test everyone, and that’s exactly the kind of challenge we’re here for.”
