Hrithik Roshan has never shied away from pressure, whether it’s on a film set or in the boardroom. But in an in-depth interview with BrandEquity, the superstar admitted that entrepreneurship brings a very different kind of accountability.

Unlike acting, where reactions come only after a film releases, Hrithik said building products requires constant listening, especially through the team that interacts with customers daily. “There is a dependency on the team who almost have a one-on-one interaction with the customers,” he shared, adding that he relies heavily on the Myntra team to bring him real, unfiltered feedback from the market.

Yet, he also made it clear that there are certain non-negotiables when it comes to the HRX brand. “There are some fits that I just don’t compromise on,” Hrithik stated, explaining that even the smallest details, be it a T-shirt, fitness wear, dumbbells, or overall aesthetics, have to be right.

He offered a striking example from HRX footwear, revealing how seriously he takes performance and comfort. He revealed, “For instance, whenever I see that a new batch of HRX shoes has not hit the sweet spot between pronation and supination. If the pronation is not correct, and I don’t like this shoe, I will wear a competitive brand, and make sure it’s photographed, and the message is sent across that I am not happy.”

Hrithik Roshan admitted that “I am a bit of a bully” and added that it’s his way of keeping the team sharp. He stated, “I try to signal that you better work hard or I will stop wearing it. That is something that keeps the team on their toes.”

At another point in the interview, he also said, “I remember a time when there were some celebrities on stage and they were asked a question about what they think of when they see a particular person and a certain celebrity. They were asked what they think of when they look at me. The first thing that came to their mind was HRX. When I meet fans, when I am on stage, some are shouting Hrithik Roshan, but most are shouting HRX. So, the name becoming synonymous with HRX is a sign of success for me. A synonym of my name is HRX.”
